We regularly support the work of Public Counsel and Bet Tzedek which provide pro bono legal services to the neediest populations in our community. Our attorneys actively participate in local, state and national organizations, including the American Bankruptcy Institute, Beverly Hills Bar Association, California Lawyers Association, International Women’s Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation, John M. Langston Bar Association, Los Angeles County Bar Association, National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges, and Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles, which work to expand diversity, equity and inclusion in the legal and bankruptcy professions.
Danning Gill attorneys are active in the Los Angeles Bankruptcy Forum’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee, which aims to increase the number of diverse new bankruptcy attorneys entering the legal market, and to foster growth and support for rising professionals in our field. Members of the firm regularly present to law students on opportunities in the field of bankruptcy law on behalf of the Los Angeles Bankruptcy Forum’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee.
Our managing partner, Eric Israel, is an active supporter of Lambda Legal, a national organization committed to achieving full recognition of the civil rights of lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, transgender people and everyone living with HIV through impact litigation, education and public policy work. Eric Israel is also involved in the LGBTQ Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, and is an active member of the Los Angeles LGBTQ Chamber of Commerce. Partner Zev Shechtman is a board member of Pacific Southwest Region of the Anti Defamation League, a leading civil rights organization whose mission is to stop antisemitism and all forms of bigotry.
